Course Description

Classes begin April 14, 2012 in Belmont Harbor and Waukegan Harbor

Refresher Sailing 121 is the perfect way for previously-trained sailors to renew their 'rusty' sailing skills quickly. Dinghy and multihull sailors also use this course as a path to keelboat credentials.This 8-hour, on-the-water course takes your skills from rusty to proficient in a fun, Lake Michigan setting. This course is not a substitute for Basic Sailing 101.

Curriculum

Under the guidance of our certified instructors you will quickly and seamlessly re-acquire all the sailing and practical boat handling skills of Basic Sailing, including review of terminology, rigging, safety and rope work. By the completion of the course you will be able to command a keelboat to the high standards of US SAILING.

Course Details

Refresher Sailing 121 classes provide 8-hours of on-the-water training. Each class is limited to four students, insuring that you receive the maximum of personal attention. Our text, US Sailing's Basic Keelboat is included and can be picked up before the start of your classes from our office on B Dock in Belmont Harbor or by arrangement at A Dock in North Waukegan Harbor.

Our Instructional Vessel

The fastest and most effective way to learn sailing is aboard a fast, responsive and safe sailboat. The J/22 exceeds these criteria in every way and is the world's most popular adult training vessel and Chicago Sailing's obvious choice. All our vessels are equipped with auxiliary motors.
